Charles Edward Vallot Jr.  (Bean) was born on January 31, 1959 to Late Charles Edward Vallot Senior and Late Rebecca Nunez Vallot of Abbeville, Louisiana. He was suddenly called home from this earth to his eternal home on October 19, 2026.
Charles was a 1977 graduate of Abbeville high school. He was recognized for his exceptional, basketball talent and athletic excellence during his basketball career. He received the most valuable player award, and the outstanding athletic award, leaving a distinguished mark on his school's athletic program. Charles then accepted a two-year basketball scholarship in Texas at Wharton County Junior College. He was then enrolled at University of Southwestern, Louisiana. Charles later took over the family business of Vallot's Grocery after the passing of his father in 1980. For more than 30 years, he carried on his family's legacy through Vallot's Grocery, building upon the foundation laid by his parents. Yet his greatest legacy extended beyond business success Vallot's Grocery, an establishment that became far more than a neighborhood store stood as a pillar of the community where his generosity knew no bounds, and his compassion was ever present, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of countless families. Vallot's Grocery was more than a business, it was a home away from home; a place where generations gathered, childhood memories were made, holidays were shared, and community became family. Following the closing of Vallot's Grocery, he continued his career as a dedicated employee of Super One Food for the next 15 years.
Above all, he will be remembered for the remarkable man he was and the countless lives he touched. A beloved fixture in the Abbeville community, he was known for his generosity, humility, and willingness to help others. He had a genuine heart and a quiet way of making people feel welcomed and cared for, often never realizing the extent of the impact he made. The outpouring of love and heartfelt memories shared by so many is a testament to the difference he made in his community.
As a father, he was everything a child could hope for gentle, loving, supportive, and kind. He brought laughter through his humor and comfort through his presence, making his family feel loved in ways both big and small. He cherished spending time with his grandchild, cooking for him, watching sports together on television, and enjoying the simple moments that made their bond so special. Bean was a true sports fanatic who loved every sport, knew every game inside and out, and especially enjoyed talking sports with his children, Chelsie and Jawann, reliving the games and sharing laughs along the way. He especially enjoyed teaching his grandchild how to play sports, offering pointers, correcting his technique, and sharing his knowledge and passion for the game. These moments allowed him to pass along a part of himself that will always be treasured.
He also enjoyed playing pool, taking rides, and making his familiar store runs to play his tickets, try his luck with the lottery, and buy his favorite scratch-offs. He loved dining out with family and gathering with his longtime friends at Shucks to catch up, share stories, and enjoy one another’s company. These were friendships that spanned more than 60 years, a testament to the loyalty and lasting bonds he cherished throughout his life.
He will be remembered for his humble spirit, generous heart, and the love he shared with those around him. His character spoke for itself, and the outpouring of love from family, friends, and the Abbeville community is a reflection of the remarkable impact he made throughout his life. His legacy extends far beyond his years, living on through the people he loved, the friendships he cherished, and the countless lives he touched. He leaves behind a lasting example of what it means to be a good man, and his memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved
